Both cities will follow Directive 15 – published on March 25,2020 – which is more relaxed restrictions than Directive 16.
During the 22-day social distancing campaign from April 1, Ho Chi Minh city went 19 consecutive days without new cases and only has two active cases left. Accordingly, the city will stop the social distancing campaign starting Thursday.
While Hanoi can end the social distancing campaign, but some areas, like the districts of Thuong Tin and Me Linh, will continue to be deemed “high-risk”, and have to continue implementing the social distancing campaign in full. The city has recorded 112 Covid-19 cases so far, of which 81 have been discharged and 31 are under treatment. Hanoi hasn’t recorded a new case since April 16.
Of Vietnam’s 270 Covid-19 cases so far, 225 have recovered. The country has recorded no new infection in the last six days.
The pandemic has spread to 210 countries and territories and its reported death toll has crossed 203.940. (APRIL 26 2020).
